Optical Payload with QKD
The objective of the activity is to derive and verify a concept for an on-board optical payload for GNSS satellites to address 3 functions to support and enhance the service of the GNSS constellation: Optical Intersatellite (ISL) and to Ground data communication via laser communication, intersatellite ranging and space-to- ground Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).
A breadboard for ranging and QKD will be further developed and adapted and merged with the sub-system functions in order to verify the feasibility and performance.
